The Loan Process
Applying is simple because our service is personal from start to finish.
Get Started
Step 1
Decide how much money you need and when you want to repay it.
Complete and send us the following details requesting the instalment payable for the amount you want to borrow and the applicable term.
Step 2
If you accept the instalment, we have quoted you, then the following documentation needs to be emailed to info@downingandsons.co.za :
- The latest (3) three months bank statement (each page must contain the bank date stamp)
- Latest salary advice.
- Copy of identity book or card.
- Proof of residential address.

Step 3
We verify your income.
A credit check will then be done once all the documentation has been received.
You will be contacted once we are satisfied with the credit check in order to complete the application form, as well as determine your income and expenditure.
Step 4
We verify your income.
Should the loan be approved the contract will be emailed to you for your signature through Docusign. On completion of all the signatories a signed contract will be emailed to you for your safe keeping.

Step 5 – Repayment/Debit Order
The money is transferred to your bank account.
The monthly collection of the instalment is loaded on a system called Debicheck.
Once this has been done you will receive a sms to authenticate the transaction. If you do not have cell phone banking and are going to use the USSD system, then no sms is sent to you. You must have sufficient airtime on your phone to authenticate the transaction. Use the appropriate code for your bank.

NB: Once you have signed the documents, wait about 30 minutes, and then apply the bank code.
Once the authentication has been done the loan amount is transferred into your bank account.
